Crucial Salary Negotiation Tips

Crucial Salary Negotiation Tips

Take Nothing Personally and Always Remain Professional or Be Filled with Regret – When negotiating a salary, never take anything personally and always keep your calm even if you feel disrespected regarding the offer they give.

Not every hiring manager is effective at salary negotiation. As a matter of fact, most are on the same level as the job seeker, desperately wanting to come back victorious to their boss.

If you feel that you were lowballed, politely go over what you were expecting and why the offer came in as such. When treated reasonably, most people react in a reasonable manner.

If they don’t respond reasonably, then you need to get a job at another company, as you don’t want to associate yourself with such people.

2) The More Precise Your Background… the More Negotiation Leverage You May Have – It’s the law of supply and demand.

There may be 12,000 competent sales professionals in Dallas, but how many are absolute experts when it comes to selling, for example, cloud computing services to Fortune 500 firms in the pharmaceutical industry? If you are unhappy with the offers you are getting, step back and figure out how to separate yourself from the pack.

This may take a little work, but no employer pays heavily for average, even in a great economy. Remember the following formula:

Expertise = Salary Negotiation Wiggle Room

Average = Consistently Under Compensation During Entire Career Duration

3) Ask Whether Re-negotiation Is Open In 6 months If You Prove Yourself… then

Prove yourself to be the best in the office. Let’s say that you really want the job and while pay you offered is less than ideal, you can survive.

Politely ask if you could come back to the table in 180 days, as you are willing to prove that you can do what you said you could do during the interview. Work hard and, in 180 days, if played correctly, you will be leading the aforementioned conversations from here on in.

p.s. It doesn’t hurt to ask for a performance report in 90 and 180 days. The more cards they show and the harder you work, the more lucrative your paycheck.

Singapore Sme Cash Grant And Corporate Income Tax Rebate Presented By Tax Accountants Pte Ltd

For Year of Assessment (YA) 2011, companies will receive:

1. A Corporate Income Tax (CIT) Rebate; or
2. A SME Cash Grant,

whichever is the higher amount.

## Corporate Income Tax (CIT) Rebate ##

A 20% CIT rebate, subject to a cap of $10,000, will be allowed to each company for YA 2011. The CIT rebate will be computed on the tax payable amount after deducting tax set-offs (e.g. double tax relief and unilateral tax credit).

## One-Off SME Cash Grant ##

Recognising that many small companies are not taxable and would not be able to benefit from the CIT rebate, a one-off SME cash grant of 5% on total revenue for YA 2011, subject to a cap of $5,000 will be separately given to them.
To be eligible for the SME cash grant, the company must have made CPF contribution for at least one employee during the basis period of YA 2011. If no CPF contribution is made, the company will only be eligible for the CIT rebate;
Companies will receive automatically the higher of CIT rebate amount or the SME cash grant amount. CIT rebate will be given if both amounts are the same.

## Payment of CIT Rebate and SME Cash Grant ##

Companies do not need to apply for the CIT rebate or SME cash grant. The Singapore Tax Authority (IRAS) will compute the amount of the CIT rebate or the SME cash grant which a company will receive when companies file their income tax return (i.e. Form C).

IRAS will start disbursing the SME cash grant from Sept 2011 to companies. Companies can expect to receive the SME cash grant within six months from the submission of the Form C.

The Three Main Professions That Can Be Found in the San Antonio Eye Care Industry

The Three Main Professions That Can Be Found in the San Antonio Eye Care Industry

Patients from San Antonio who suffer from adverse eye conditions and vision problems can rely on three classes of eye care specialists for their needs. These three general types of San Antonio eye doctors provide the same high level of care and expertise that their fellow eye professionals from other areas and countries usually exhibit. Through them, San Antonians are readily assured of continuous expert eye care. San Antonio eye care specialists and experts in eye care in general, typically fall under one of three specializations: Ophthalmologists, optometrists, and opticians. All of them are dedicated in helping patients with any difficulties they find in seeing and all of them have the needed knowledge and training to deal with eye diseases and issues. An ophthalmologist can be defined as an eye doctor who is concerned with the medical diagnosis and management of our eyes and vision, and he can also advise us of ways to protect our eyes better. He is also trained to perform surgical procedures to patients who are in urgent need of them. San Antonio ophthalmologists can do careful analysis of our eyes and measure out the limitations of our sight; he can also determine abnormal eye conditions and diseases and prescribe the right kind of surgical or medical intervention for them. Some of them specialize so that they can conduct other needed procedures such as San Antonio laser eye surgery and surgery to correct cataracts. An optometrist, meanwhile, is a type of eye care specialist that practices optometry or the science of the eyes and vision. Unlike an ophthalmologist, he has not undergone instruction and training in a medical school; nonetheless, he is still fully capable of identifying, resolving, and managing some eye and vision problems. San Antonio eye doctors of this type mainly deal with the prescription and equipping of eyeglasses and contact lenses. He may also be able to give you eye medication if you need them, and he can help establish certain eye disorders such as macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma, general vision loss, and conjunctivitis. The third type of San Antonio eye specialist is the optician. He works along with ophthalmologists and optometrists in diagnosing sight and eye problems. He is mainly concerned with providing eye management and care to patients who need to undergo expert assessment and specialized surgery such as San Antonio laser eye surgery. However, unlike the first two professions, the optician is not trained to conduct vision analyses and routine eye tests by himself. He can also do modifications and repairs to faulty eyeglass frames and flawed contact lenses. As we can see in the above definitions, San Antonio eye care providers can be classified among three different classes, with each type duly trained and certified to handle sight and vision concerns of their patients. The three classifications are not only true to eye specialists who hail from San Antonio but they are also true across eye specialists everywhere.

Online Marketing Ideas For Summer Income

Online Marketing Ideas For Summer Income

If you are a teacher, you are likely counting down the days until the end of the school year. Even teachers who love their jobs are ready for a break for the summer. With prices steadily rising, some teachers need to find summer work to earn extra income. Rather than competing with high school and college students for a job at the mall or grocery store, they should consider online marketing ideas for extra summer income.

Online jobs are convenient because they do not require leaving the house. This aspect also makes them money-savers, because it reduces gas expense and vehicle wear-and-tear. More money ends up in the pocket simply by working from home. What a person does determines the amount of additional income that is made. The Internet is filled with online job opportunities but not all of them are financially lucrative.

A couple of online marketing ideas are especially attractive to teachers looking for summer employment. One of them is becoming an affiliate. This person sets up a Web site or blog and promotes products and services. The job is easier than it sounds because the individual does not need to make the products or deliver any services. Affiliates simply act as liaisons between a retailer and customers. There are established affiliate programs all over the Internet involving everything from baby food to gambling services. Teachers earn affiliate commission when they promote these items online.

Another interesting opportunity for a teacher is work as an online marketing consultant. This is a teaching-type role that involves educating online businesses to promote themselves. In the online world, success is determined by site traffic, which is correlated to the position the company holds in search engine results listings. By showing a company how to improve its ranking, a teacher helps it generate additional income.

A teacher may be so burnt out from the school year that the prospect of learning how to do these roles seems overwhelming. It does not have to be because there are professionals in the field ready and willing to teach others how to be successful. Learning from them makes the road to success much smoother.

Another positive aspect of being shown the ropes by a professional is the support system. This person serves as a mentor, providing guidance through uncertain areas and offering useful tricks and tips along the way. The teacher becomes the student, but only for a short time, because he or she is soon earning respectable, supplementary income from online marketing ideas.

Work-life balance and its impact on employee engagement

Work-life balance and its impact on employee engagement

Work-life balance and its impact on employee engagement

The landscape of work-life balance has changed dramatically over the last couple of decades, and the nurturing of personal relationships is now more important than ever. Research has shown that employees with strong and effective relationships live longer, have less stress, and have higher levels of employee engagement. Wise employers understand the importance of how personal relationships enrich our professional lives.

Managing and nurturing our relationships is perhaps the most important and impactful thing we can do to enrich our lives. Our society respects and reveres those who have happy personal relationships. Much thought, research, and time is put into reinforcing the importance of balancing these varied responsibilities.

Rather than focusing on the number of such relationships, it is important to examine the quality of our relationships with spouses, children, co-workers and others. Social media can give us a false sense of an effective support network, when in reality, we may just have an abundance of superficial -friends- online. High-quality relationships give us energy and low-quality relationships take energy from us. It is important to spend more time in positive relationships and less time in negative ones. Failing this, it’s vital to somehow change the way we view a negative relationship. Doing this helps us keep the right focus in life. If you really want a boost in energy and perspective, volunteer your time and build relationships with those who are less fortunate. Many companies encourage employees to be mentors for this very reason.

Employers’ Approach in Helping Employees Maintain a Work-Life Balance

For employers, it is important to let employees focus on results, not just time in the office. This will let employees design their own best work-life balance. It also sends a message that the company trusts the employee to get the work done. Companies will see employee engagement rise in this environment. This also results in a performance culture instead of a face-time culture.

Successfully plugging in and then unplugging is one key to managing your relationships. Career coaching services can help with tools on refining this skill.

Being able to focus on work, then focus on your family or personal relationships, and then focus again on work is a recipe for success. This is not easy and will take practice to refine. However, once mastered, this skill makes for happier employees.
